CroCapture
Snip, annotate, blur & copy
About
CroCapture is the quickest way to grab part of your screen, explain it, and pass it on.
Press ⌃⌘A or click the menu bar icon, drag over any area or click a window, mark it up, and press Return. Your annotated screenshot is on the clipboard, ready to paste into a chat, an email, a ticket or a document. No editor window to manage, and no files piling up on your desktop.
Select exactly what you need
- Drag to select any area, or click to capture the window under the pointer
- Fine-tune the selection with eight handles, or nudge it with the arrow keys (hold ⇧ to move 10 points)
- A magnifier loupe shows the pixels under the pointer, its position and the color’s hex value
- A live width × height readout
- Works on every connected display, at full Retina resolution
Mark it up right where it is
- Rectangle, ellipse, arrow, pen and text tools, drawn directly on your selection
- Six colors and three sizes
- Hold ⇧ for perfect squares, circles and straight arrows
- Drag shapes and text to move them; double-click text to edit it
- ⌘Z undoes your last change
Hide what’s private
- Paint a mosaic over names, emails, passwords and numbers with the brush
- Or drag a rectangle to pixelate a whole area at once
Copy, save or pick a color
- Return, ⌘C or a double-click inside the selection copies the screenshot
- ⌘S saves it as a PNG or JPEG file
- Before you select anything, ⌘C copies the hex color under the pointer — a handy color picker
Stays out of your way
- Lives in the menu bar, with no Dock icon
- Choose your own global shortcut, and launch at login if you like
- Right-click to start over, Esc to cancel
- Available in English, 简体中文, 繁體中文, 日本語, 한국어, Français, Deutsch, Italiano and Español
Private by design
CroCapture works entirely on your Mac. There are no accounts, no analytics and no network connections — your screenshots go only where you paste or save them.
CroCapture needs the Screen Recording permission, which macOS asks for the first time you take a screenshot.
