1. Overview

CroDB is a local-first macOS client for connecting to MySQL and PostgreSQL databases. CroDB does not require an account and does not operate a cloud service for storing your database information.

2. Data We Collect

CroDB and its developer, CroWall, do not collect personal data or usage data from the app. We do not upload your database credentials, connection settings, SQL statements, query results, database contents, or locally created app data to our servers. We do not sell, rent, or share such data with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.

3. Data Stored on Your Mac

To provide its features, CroDB may store the following information locally on your Mac:

  • Database connection settings, such as host, port, database name, and username;
  • Query history, favorites, SQL drafts, and workspace state;
  • App preferences, display settings, and environment labels; and
  • Database passwords, only when you choose to save them in macOS Keychain. This information remains on your Mac and is not transmitted to CroWall. Passwords saved in macOS Keychain are managed and protected by macOS.

4. Database Connections

When you connect to a database, CroDB communicates directly between your Mac and the MySQL or PostgreSQL server that you configure. CroDB sends the connection credentials and database requests needed to perform the actions you initiate, and it receives schema information, query results, and other database responses from that server. This communication is not routed through CroWall. The database server may be operated by you, your organization, or another provider, and its data practices are governed by its operator. Connection security, including whether TLS is available or required, depends on your configuration and the database server. You should use encrypted connections whenever your server supports them.

5. Files You Choose

CroDB may access files that you explicitly select for features such as CSV import or data export. These files are processed locally for the operation you request and are not uploaded to CroWall.

6. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

CroDB does not include advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, tracking technologies, or third-party crash-reporting SDKs. CroDB does not track you across apps or websites. Apple may process diagnostics or App Store information according to Apple's own settings and privacy policy. CroWall does not receive database content through those Apple services.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Locally stored CroDB data remains on your Mac until you delete it in the app or remove the app's local data. You can manage saved passwords through macOS Keychain Access. Because Keychain items may remain after an app is uninstalled, use Keychain Access if you want to confirm that saved credentials have been permanently removed.

8. Children's Privacy

CroDB is a developer tool and is not directed to children. Because CroDB does not collect personal data, we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when CroDB's features or legal requirements change. The updated policy will be posted at the same location with a revised effective date.
